Integrated Water Technologies (IWaTec) - 2012-2015

Funder: DAAD (Germany)
Partners: University of Duisburg-Essen
Goal: To develop integrated water purification technologies and capacity building in membrane science. This project focused on training, lab development, and collaborative research in water treatment technologies.

Inkjet-Printed Electronic & Optoelectronic Devices - 2012-2015

Funder: US-Egypt Research Program
Partners: University of California, Berkeley
Goal: To fabricate low-cost printed electronics using solution-based processing and inkjet printing. This collaboration advanced flexible electronics and sensor technologies.

SOLEDA - Solar System Design Learning Aid - 2012-2016

Funder: EU Tempus
Partners: Universities in UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, Greece
Goal: To design and implement solar energy educational tools and small-scale PV/thermal demonstrators adapted to regional climates. This project enhanced solar energy education and practical applications.

SURface & Interface SYStems (SURSYS) - 2013-2015

Funder: DAAD
Partners: German universities (Duisburg-Essen, Darmstadt)
Focus: Surface engineering, interface control, and advanced materials for energy and environmental applications. This project advanced interface science and materials development.

Thin-Film Membrane Research Center - 2015-2017

Funder: STDF (Egypt)
Objective: To establish an internationally accredited membrane science and technology research center at Fayoum University. This project established our core membrane testing and research capabilities.

Lead-Free Perovskite Solar Cells - 2019-2020

Funder: STDF
Focus: Developing stable, efficient non-toxic perovskite solar cells for sustainable energy. This project addressed environmental concerns while improving solar cell performance.

Nanomaterials for Cancer Therapeutics - 2020-2021

Funder: STDF
Project: "Cancer Cells Targeting Using Carbon-Based Nanomaterials" – exploring carbon nanomaterials for drug delivery, imaging, and therapy. This project advanced biomedical applications of nanomaterials.

Laser-Induced Graphene for Energy Storage - 2019-2020

Focus: Creating graphene heterostructures using laser processing, optimized for high-performance energy storage devices. This project developed novel energy storage materials and methods.

International Accreditation of Thin-Film Membranes Laboratory - 2021-2023

Funder: STDF
Aim: To obtain global-standard certification for our membrane analysis lab, expanding capacity for external service and collaboration. This project enhanced our international recognition and service capabilities.
